This Raffia is the same raffia I have used in the past for crocheting dolly hats. It is finer than the sort you buy for human scale projects and also not made of absorbent paper, so much better for miniature projects.
You will need about one skein for making a hat, but please note it will also depend on the tension of your crochet and the size crochet hook you use.
